I-Framer 3

I-Framer is designed to allow the straightforward creation of MPEG I-frames, which can then be used as static images in interactive applications.

I-Framer allows users to utilise any image processing tool to produce their source image and then easily convert it to the required MPEG I-frame format. MPEG I-frames are single frames of MPEG video images that offer high compression in combination with full colour and resolution. I-Framer allows two variable levels of compression so that a highly optimised image can be produced, retaining detail where required.

I-Frames are used on many interactive television platforms to provide high quality full-colour background graphics without the palette limitations of PNG images. I-Framer can be used generate the required I-frames during interactive application development. It is available as a desktop version for use on PC (Windows XP or Vista) or as a server version (Windows XP, Server 2003 or Vista) for use as an automated tool to generate I-frames from source images in bitmap or other non-compressed formats.
